Why are bees – Magnificent?
Did you know?
You have a bee to thank for every one of the three bites of food you eat! Bees are responsible for around 75-80% of flowering plant pollination, playing a vital role in our ecosystems. While staple grains like wheat and corn rely on wind for pollination, fruits, nuts, and vegetables depend heavily on bees. In fact, 70 of the top 100 crops that provide 90% of the world’s nutrition rely on bee pollination, highlighting their critical contribution to global food security and biodiversity.
Why bee colonies are collapsing?
Bees are dying for a variety of reasons. Factors attributed are pesticides, drought, habitat destruction, nutrition deficit, air pollution, monoculture farming, global warming, and more. Many of these causes are interrelated. But the common denominator seems to be humans.
