About

During the COVID-19 lockdown, I came across articles that stated the honeybee population was decreasing. I was surprised, so I began to investigate more and came to realize that they are so important for the plant and even for humans. A large number of food that human consumer requires bees to pollinate. Without them, our civilization wouldn’t be the same. So, I decided to help.

I took a beekeeping workshop in April 2021 at Bee Hive Barn, Cranbury, NJ. Bought the hive and the nucleus. And started beekeeping. It gives me great joy that I could even harvest honey at the end of the year as a new beekeeper, which is a rare feat.

I harvested 8 bottles of honey and gave them to my neighbors. To thank them and also to bring awareness of the dwindling bee population. In 2022, I plan to expand my beekeeping and harvest more honey and see it. And all proceeds would be donated to the food bank, where I volunteer on alternate Saturdays.
